Privacy Policy

Packlisty is built so that your travel data stays yours. This policy explains what the app stores, the few services it talks to, and what those services receive.

What Packlisty stores
Your trips, packing lists, travellers, notes and any documents you attach are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled on your device, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud database so it is available on your other devices.
That iCloud data sits in your personal Apple account. We operate no server for it and have no way to read, export or restore it.
Services the app contacts
Weather and place lookup — Open-Meteo
To adapt a packing list to the conditions at your destination, the app looks up the place name you typed and requests a forecast from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). Open-Meteo receives the destination name and its coordinates, plus the technical data that any web request carries, such as your IP address. It does not receive your device location, your name, or an identifier of you or your device, and the app sends no account information with the request.
Subscriptions — Apple and RevenueCat
Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. To recognise whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA), which receives a pseudonymous app-user identifier and the status of your purchase from Apple. It receives no travel data.
Product analytics — PostHog
If analytics is enabled in a released version, Packlisty records anonymous product events — such as “a trip was created” — through PostHog on its European servers, to understand which features are actually used. These events contain no destinations, no list contents and no documents, and are not used for advertising.
Camera
The luggage scanner uses the camera and ARKit to measure a suitcase. Everything happens live on your device. No image, video or measurement is uploaded or stored by us.
Notifications and Spotlight
Departure reminders are scheduled locally by your device. Trips indexed for Spotlight search stay on your device as well.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
- No account and no sign-up to use the app.
How long data is kept
Data on your device remains until you delete a trip or remove the app. Data in your private iCloud database remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app’s data in your iCloud settings. Subscription records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as required for billing and tax purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, to object to certain processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. This applies in particular under the GDPR in the EU/EEA and under the KVKK in Türkiye.
Because your travel data is stored only on your device and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise most of these rights directly: delete a trip in the app, or remove the app’s iCloud data in your device settings. For anything concerning subscription or analytics data, write to support@packlisty.app and we will respond within one month.
Children
Packlisty is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We will update this page if the app’s data handling changes, and adjust the date at the top. Material changes will be pointed out in the app.
